The Responsive Hammer III keyboard action utilizes a precise three-sensor key detection system for enhanced realism in playing.
The addition of a third sensor enhances responsiveness during rapid repeated keystrokes and, unlike conventional two-sensor keyboard actions found in many digital pianos, allows for the gradual layering of a single note's sound without losing the previous tone.
Furthermore, Kawai's keyboard action technology also monitors the speed at which each key is lifted, thus influencing the release character of the piano sounds and providing a greater range of expression between staccato and legato playing.
Ivory Touch key surfaces
The impressive DG30 comes standard with Ivory Touch key surfaces, highly regarded by Kawai. This finely textured material gently absorbs sweat and finger oils to enhance playability and features a natural matte finish that is smooth but not slippery.

Simulation of the release

High-performance 4-speaker output system
The DG30's 4-speaker output system is designed to reproduce the harmonic spectrum of an acoustic piano. Low frequencies are delivered from beneath the instrument, while mid and high frequencies are projected outward by speakers mounted on the soundboard, then reflect off the polished soundboard. The result is an expansive sound that faithfully captures the sound projection of a grand piano.
